Hello World. First of all, I want to thank you for visiting my little corner of the web. I hope that you gain some knowledge and joy.
Bit about me. I a middle aged guy living in Guelph, Canada who has rediscovered a passion for astronomy and photography that dates back to grade school. My kids are heading off to university and I now have the time to indulge in something that has fascinated me for most of my life. Now, let’s be honest, compared to a lot of other people out there, my images are, shall we say, a work in progress. This is my hobby, it brings me enjoyment and I hope you will enjoy sharing the journey with me.
I equate learning this hobby to the early rocket program. They had failure after failure but they learned something new each time and eventually the rocket worked. I have spent many a night trouble shooting some hardware or software issue, often in frustration. However, I always learned some new skill that made me a better astrophotographer. Failure is good and necessary if we are to succeed.
I could have not done this without the help of my local telescope shop, KWtelescope in Kitchener, or the many resources on the internet. From free software ( PHD, NINA, ASTAP) to YouTube videos to people giving me their data to practise my processing skills. So I want to give back. I am making my data available (personal use only) to those who want to practice their processing skills and linking all the other resources I used in the resources page.
So,please, enjoy.
P.S. What is Brundish you ask. It’s the name of my grandparents house in Barbados. I don’t know if there is any connection to Brundish, UK. I have always thought it was a very cool name.
